    What type of helmet is this? It seems like a Vietnam era helmet to me? What does MVl on the bottom of the liner mean? Is this original? Somebody told me that this is a paratrooper helmet.

    On the liner it was stamped combat type 11, 7th Dec. 1965., 8(size)......

    Is the seam on the helmet at the front or the back of the helmet. Because the lid looks a lot older than the liner.

    The seam is at the back of the helmet rim.

    yeah i would say a very well used Vietnam issue helmet it has the anchor stamp on the chinstrap buckle. the liner does seem to be in better condition then the shell & has the leather sweatband missing so maybe they weren't originally together & the extra chinstrap meant it would have been used by the air cav.

    I have the same thing.very used shell.airbourne chinstraps with hardware black stamped p.paint over the pea green paint.rust.liner is airbourne too with. M v l stamped inside crown. Who is the maker of the liner ?
