    G'day All

I'm relatively sharp on WW2 M1 helmets but not on post WW2.
This is a US Vietnam issue yes? it is one I just dug up from my mess and had totally forgotten about until I've recently sparked up my Vietnam collection

My first ever M1. I have had this since I was 7yr and has only just survived my teen age years!
My question is, is it a Korean war period paint job? (other than the crap I did in texta)
BTW -The long line scratches where original and not done by me or my childhood friends

Hey there fellow collectors. I am new to this forum, but not the hobby. I have been concentrating mostly on Third Reich, but have moved over to U.S. artifacts. I recenlty aquired two M1 helmets. One is fixed baile, the other swivel. My question.........is there a way to determine if the helmet was issued to the Army, or the Marines? There are no unit markings etc. Just good old OD green. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. As far as i know there is no way to tell which branch of the armed forces they were issued to. I'm no expert , so maybe someone will come along that knows different.

there's no way to tell unless you know who they belonged to or if they were marked up in anyway.
