    when it comes down to it its your lid to do with as you please for me personally if it were mine I'd leave as is the only thing i would consider changing would be the liner sweatband to either a WW2 version & maybe try to remove that D Q off the front.

    Hi Michael,

    If you can read the number stamped in forward steel shell make a photo of them.
    In the liner you have some letters & numbers stamped, make a photo of them.
    Post the photos & I give you the date of fabrication & the fabricant.
