    This is a M3Lee/grant chassis. It can be recognized thanks to the bogies with the "overhead" roller, and the 3-piece differential cover with a cut on the right side.

    I'm pretty sure that there are several Matilda's present (Matilda II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) sans running gear and electrics at a Crossroads in PNG, near Port Morsbery. Haven't been there to confirm but i;m pretty sure only the hulls were present.

    a friend of mine has just shipped a turretless matilda 2 from oz and also has another still over there, lucky beggar. i tried to wrestle one off him last year but he wasn't having any of it
    the turrets are a problem though as they're as rare as rocking horse shit. you can buy a cast reproduction turret from a well known english collector but he wants £35k each and that's without the gun !
    collecting ww2 tanks is not a hobby for those on a tight budget
