looks like the top part of an m6 periscope as used in the sherman variants.

lots of them on ebay, usually for around £25, collecting sighting telescopes is a good way to get into ww2 armour, i started off with the telescopes and would offer them to people who had the relevant tank or anti tank gun which gives you a good introduction to the people with the vehicles and gave me a buzz knowing that i'd helped somebody elses restoration. but be warned it can lead on to bigger things
