1957 Gold wound badge with wartime pin ?
Gentlemen, just acquired this rather interesting Gold wound badge, of the 1957 regulations (devoid of swastika), it is of St u L manufacture and IMO was manufactured in the mid 1960's for sale to veterans....standard 1957 mid production die strike, but with wartime pin marked "4"...obviously using up old stock as I have seen other 1957 awards from this firm bearing their old TR period "Chancellery numbers" marked hardware...........an interesting variant, comments please.
I show with comparison in die strike with a normal text book mid production strike by St u L, note the distinctive soft detail of the laurel leaves top right corner, this disapeared in later post 1968 strikes, it seems St u L cleaned or used new dies !
