I would like to see a good clear shot of the front of the L/22 marked badge.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks Nick.

Now note the hardware used on Nick's.

With poor pics it is very easy to discount what may be a good badge.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ade,

You shall have the clear shot as soon as I can get my hands on my best camera! Hopefully, the next few days.

    Thanks.

Looking at hardware to determine makers etc is good, but on occasion perhaps due to wartime shortages slightly different set up's did get used. As you can see, there is a box shaped cartouche into which the hinge is fitted. Eric's example has the same.

If the front matches the die used on Nick's, I think it will be good.

    Cheers, Ade.

I now feel that the hardware on Nick's badge looks the same as the one in question.

Variations do exist - but with poor shots, like Ade said, it's easy to discount
a good item. It would appear you have done alright at this auction !
    Regards,

    Steve.

I would still like to see a good close up of the catch. Most catches on the L22's that I've ever seen have a very obvious round base beneath the catch loop. Although, perhaps this one was replaced? It's almost impossible to say definitively from these pictures. A clearer photo or 2 is much needed here. William

    Much better.

    An original.

The die flaws to the front of the badge match all known originals.

    Cheers, Ade.
