    Dear Forum experts,

Totally new at this so I am turning to you for help. For 20 years now I have had my website D-Day, Normandy and beyond where I collected stories of veterans of WWII. I now want to try and collect a few items to form a very tiny collection. I bought my first piece a Verwundetenabzeichen in Silver. There are no markings on it. I really would like to have your expert opnions on this piece. I am sorry for my amateur level on this but I guess I need to start somewhere. I would really value your help.

    Hi Frank,

I really cant see anything wrong with that badge. It is original piece IMO.

    Hi Franko!

Thank you ever so much! So the fact that there are no markings on it is okay? Thank you for your expertise! There is so much fake out there! It is very hard to start with a collection. I
Am glad this one is okay!!! Again thank you!

    Regards,
    Frank

That one looks like Steinhauer und Luck example, Paul is right regarding that. Also something is on that pin definitely, but since you have wrote that it is unmarked example, I thought that mark on the pin maybe is some scrape.

    Best regards,
    Franko

Actually that is zinc double marked Steinhauer und Luck silver wound badge. It is marked 4 on the pin, and that is just barely visible on your pics, but it is also marked 4 underneath the catch, that is also hardly noticeable on your pics, but it is just visible enough.

    Best regards,
    Franko

I tried to zoom in on the pin but I think it’s a scrape....correction it is not a scrape but a 4 ? Can't really see it can you?

Here are a few more pictures with a zoom lens

I can see number 4 on that pin as well as underneath the catch, so that is not a scrape, but both of that markings are rather quite small and really barely noticeable.

    Best regards,
    Franko

There is number 4 below the catch as well, not just on the pin. That wound badge is double marked with 4.

    Best regards,
    Franko
