Very nice tombak badge. Can we see the back too please?
Cheers, Ade.
VERY nice ! What grade is this ?
Banksy, this is a black badge. The painted finish has worn off
the front but there is plenty remaining on the reverse.
Another indicator is that it is hollow.............

Steve.
So are gold grade solid backed ?
Sorry for all the questions !
Yes, 'gold' and 'silver' grade badges both have solid backs - However, there is
a rumor that some hollow-back tombac/brass badges without any
black paint may have been used as 'gold' grade.
There are tombac/brass, steel and zinc badges from the WWII era.
Here is a 'Black' grade, similar to Atle M's badge above
but with no paint at all............
Regards,
Steve.
A nice honest BWB Atle
