    Hi Guys,
Picked up my first Black Wound Badge and I would like to know if it is authentic!
There is a maker mark on the back, #3. The last of the photos was taken of the same badge with a different camera and different lighting which shows the 3 a little better but the color is way off.
I appreciate any comments the experts may have...good or bad. Thank you, Bob

If original, it kind of looks like it might have been repainted? Something kind of gunky looking about the front.... Curious to see what others say about it.

Yes, I see what you mean when you blow the picture up so big. But holding the badge in hand the finish is more natural. Thank you for your response.

Thanks Stewy but under close inspection it is certainly a 3.

Nope, I make you right & stand corrected. That's what you get for using a bloody iPad. Still i'm getting on a bit, glasses maybe. Sorry, Stewy.

I'm inclined to believe it's been repainted as well.
Look at the filled in detail on the crossguards
    of the swords.........

I also agree with the repaint theory

Hi, A 3 would be a W. Deumer made badge. I would compare to other examples of this maker. If original, it has been "touched up". I do not like the lack of definition on the front of this badge. Could maybe be from a heavy repaint, but I would wait for a nicer example. Being a common badge, a nice one with no questions or issues should be easy to find at a reasonable price. Hope this helps.

Thank you gentlemen! A repaint it is then.
I find shopping for TR artifacts very daunting. Fakes, reproductions and modified originals abound.
I would have bet the farm this was original but obviously I am still a novice. Regards, Bob
