Re: Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold 2x (one original, one fake)
i don't think so. however, privately i sent better pictures to their resident expert about a year ago and he also deemed it a reproduction.
this badge has never been posted there or anywhere else to my knowledge.
i have not posted it anywhere but here.

I believe the exact same badge is discussed here?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold 2x (one original, one fake)
i'll take a look at mine, but it looks very similar. (edit: sorry... that is exactly the badge i now own)
that's not me that posted it.
i see i saw it there. that could be when i bought it. that's a year ago and i buy a lot of wound badges and look at even more.
however, that member... Hans... he is the one i sent large and detailed macro shots to.
he deemed it fake.

Re: Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold 2x (one original, one fake)
i notice here he does not make a call.
he asks members to compare it with another badge and to notice the details on this GWB are much weaker. he does not make a call either way here. however, as i have said, after examining pictures i sent him privately after i purchased it, he did not like what he saw and was more committal as to it's being bad.
the other member, chrvip68, does not like it and says so.
i liked it at the time. but i do not now.
yes... i see that's the exact badge. this is the badge we are discussing.

Re: Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold 2x (one original, one fake)
as it concerns WAF members, Hans is very knowledgeable in wound badges.
if it's original, i'd be very happy. but i have a lot of wound badges, and this one just looks odd. at first i liked it from photos and i did purchase it. but in hand it always bothered me. so i took some much better pictures than these and sent them out to some names i respect. the verdict was not great.
hence, my feelings about the badge.

Re: Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold 2x (one original, one fake)
For a price of a Verwundetenabzeichen in gold, i would not buy this badge. It has to big of a IF about this varint. tempelhof it your badge and you can deem what you want. ( i think it bad)
Detail, is somthing that a lot of collectors look for.
Nick what are your thoughts (you gave thumps up)? your more into Verwundetenabzeichen then Adrain or I.

yes, i feel it's bad.
but i think it important to say that i do not post it here to force that opinion on anyone else. i'd just like to show it, lay out my reasoning and the background of the badge for the purpose of discussion.
well then, Nick... maybe we can talk.
