Verwundetenabzeichen 1939 in Gold, L/11, Wilhelm Deumer, Cased.
A recent addition to my wound badge collection.
This one shows about 50% loss of the gold finish on the obverse and only about 10% loss of the finish on the reverse, but this is the first example of a solid gold marked L/11 that I have seen for sale since I started collecting L/11 marked wound badges.
I don't normally buy cased awards as they don't really fit into my display methods but I couldn't buy this one without the case. The case is a little rough around the edges but, it is what it is.
It shows some staining on the inside and has a few knocks on the outside but there are no tears on the outside, the hinge is still intact and the catch functions fine.
