    Hi guys,
Long time since ive posted on forum.

    This I just got yesterday.
VWA gold maker marked 30 in close to mint condition. Wide pin and "funny" catch.
Colors are not quite true on the pictures, I think. It has a beautiful mat gold color to it (picture 3,4 and 5 are close)

What do yall think about it ??

    MFG

    Hello Marc
This badge looks like no Hauptmunzamt 30 that I have ever seen. It does however look a lot like the following black badge.
The noticeable difference is the knot on the bow.

I think you got yourself a stunner. The finish is very minty. I believe this is in fact the correct catch for the wide pin.

Do you think that the helmet & bow in particular match up with known examples?
This is your own example. see the difference?

Brett you might actually be right here. I was a little to fast with my judgement on this one.

I did compare it with my own one which is on the forum here and a good one.
If this is a fake its a very good one in my opinion. One thing i am missing for sure is the little dot on the rear side of the helmet. I think the lower part of the helmet is a little thin. I wonder how they faked the circles in the back of it.

It's a well known fake known as the "Bar Pin" type. The whole thing is wrong, and the coin finish is easily achieved with a small rotary tool or linishing disc. Here's another the same for comparison.

The shape from the swords and the pattern of the dots are also a NO.
