    Hi all

I'd love opinions on this silver wound badge I just bought. I fairly confident from its source its period.

Just noticed the title change. Where did 1939 come from JPhilip? The badge doesn't seem marked

I have changed the title. See here,
    The Use of German Terminology.
That is the version of wound badge that you have.

An unmarked "30" (Hauptmünzamt, Wien) . Every wound badge collection needs one of these

This is one of the more common silver grade wound badges out there.

    Hauptmünzamt Wien is the maker?
    What does the "30" signify?

"30" indicate the quality control number for this maker (Hauptmünzamt, Wien). So badges marked with "30" comes from this maker.

In German this quality control number was called "Präsidialkanzlei des Führers Lieferant" (Führer Chancellery Supplier) or short PKZ.
