great looking Carl Wild! fantastic shape.
as previous comments state, bubbling of the finish in zinc badges is a normal trait.
I like this one
is there a way to stop zinc pest or slow it down?????????, i want to preserve it forever
This bubbling is far from zinkpest, if it was zinkpest then it would be a almost white/grey powder like surface.
The irreversible process will eventually destroy the object, there is no way to stop it.
but this badge does not suffer from it.
Leave it as it is, or use renwax to seal it from air ( crystalite wax or museumwax) it slows down the process
Ger
so coat the badge in a wax to seal it airtight? why exactly does it bubble? will it be fine for a very long time if i treat it correctly?
It cannot be stopped altogether as it is due to the metal make up.
It can only be slowed down.
Cheers, Ade.

shame...... il do my best to keep er lookin spiffy as long as possible, can i coat it and put it in a sealed plastic bag or case of sorts?
I certainly would not seal it up in a bag: it could well "sweat". It will be fine in a display cabinet where you can enjoy it.
Cheers, Ade.

I think it will last much longer than your lifetime so don't worry about it. Nothing lasts forever (even cold november rain).
