I got this at an auction and assumed a silver badge, but on the back there are remnants of gold. Am I correct to believe this to be a gold wound badge?
Thanks.

Looks a lot like my gold one, the gold plating comes away, leaving that dull silver patina....it's a gold one!!!
Actually my silver one has a gold patina and my gold one is like the one in your photo!!!!
Looks like gold remnants on a zinc badge to me. Sometimes the
only finish left is a 'gold' coloured pin.........

Did Juncker make these badges and mark them as such?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
IMO its not a Juncker badge and that stamp with the heavy 'L' is post war

Seems like an odd thing to do ? On closer inspection,
the 'L/12' mark is crooked as well.........

Steve.
That is a curious thing....surely there wouldn't be any great profit made by marking an unmarked badge??
