Original Wound Badge in gold. 28 maker marked. You can still see original gilding to the pin. The finish to the front of the badge is new but has been added decades ago. Possibly even period time! These zinc badges never hold the original gilding very well!
It's very salty, but complete. Which is exactly what I'm looking for.

    What do you folks think?

i need to stop skipping over peoples' words when i look at these things.

i thought, "something's not right here" and was about to make comment when i bother to read that it was described accurately.

at any rate, as Woolgar says, a good maker to add to the collection.

    lol, thanks gentlemen.

Klaus had it listed at a great price, I couldn't resist. Unfortunately, he's away until Monday... so I have to wait even longer to receive it!

I can finally delete the WTB from my signature!

Does anyone have any hypotheses on the finish?
