In a sort of related post, here is my Zinc L/14 wound badge with a gold catch. It had been denazed and repainted gold, but only on the wreath, the helmet and the swords, but you can, IMO, still see traces of the original gold on the pebbling.

Whatever its just an opinion.
I have from the start believed that the PKA is original (due to the hardware setup and other details discernable through the applied paint).
Since it is hard to see, I have taken the liberty to show the photos to the guy I know of to be most familiar with the world of PKAs and in his opinion this is a 100% original ground-dug, re-painted badge. Hope you don't mind rory!

Rory, sorry i really don't like the gap between the Swaz & Panzer. Also the area under the gun barrel as you look at the reverse is wrong, not defined enough for me. At best it's a ground dug one painted up. I know who it was from & he's ok. So maybe i'm way off track on this one. Stewy
not at all kenneth thanks never knew it would have been ground dug also the reason there is a gap between the tank and swaz is due to the badge being bent back a bit also i noticed on the wounds badge on one of the sword handles and the bottom of the helmet there is traces of gold paint so all good
cheers rory
yes the badge is bent and that gap must have been made as the badge partly came apart, even tho the badge is ground dug its still a rare maker mark to have isnt it?
