The badge is a very common generic design and matches that produced by F. Jungwith (45 unmarked and my best guess) Rudolf Berge (39), H. Krelsel (67), Artur Jakel & Sohne (58), Rudolf Leukert (71), Overhoff & Cie (81) etc., etc., the list goes on. There are makers who used the same pattern with integral hinge and catch, both marked and unmarked, it's not easy to pick the right one when unmarked.

Thanks Ned, I'm very grateful for your expertise.
It looks like it is marked to me Doug.
It is just a very weak strike in my opinion but it looks to be made by August Menzs & Sohn
It should have his makers code 118 on the left side of the swastika on the helmet.
Cheers

Sorry Ned I hadn't realised you had replied as I was busy looking at my DB!

I have always said that people who are called Doug are very clever. I think you are quiet right.
Hello Doug
Thanks for your comments however I am still learning.
There are far more wiser folks on this forum than me.
Ned is one of the main men here and he is quite right in his appraisal about your badge.
The integral hinge and hook set up is used by at least 10 different manufacturers and apart from the odd number that is stamped on some of them it is near impossible to determine who is the maker.
It is lucky that yours retains the residue of the mm
I had time to look through my database before responding.
Cheers
Doug
I am very grateful to you and Ned for your help.
My lamps are getting bloody terrible....., I can't see anything even on the desk monitor. Recently I've been viewing the forum on my new mobile phone, but have since desisted to post when on it as every time I've used that to comment on something I've been wrong, damn you crappy 4" screen!!!
Regards, Ned.
