I quick question, is this a legitimate marker as I have seen a packet marked L55?

Yes, L55 (Wächtler & Lange) is a legitimate maker mark on black wound badges and packages.

But as always, please post pictures of the actual badge/package for comments on authentication.

Hello Jonathan,
L55 is the LDO mark for Wachtler& Lange.
On the Black wound badge looking at the back it is always maker marked on the left hand sword blade.
Their issued black badges were also marked '100' in the same position

That is an original L55 package

Difficult to find.
