    so were the top pockets "tailored" or issued that way?

    No issued this way, all were angled, early patt had exposed buttons and not of rip stop. Here's another example

    Do you have the matching trousers Rene? They are hard to find I discovered some years ago when I did collect VN era stuff. But that was pre internet days.
