Always wanted one of these. Got this at the local show today.

The dealer has 1/2 dozen or so and Steve and I were going back and forth on which was the best. (There was no wrong answer ).

A nice '68 manufactured (as seen by the 3 hash marks on either side) Zippo lighter to "Point Man". Two years "in country" with Bob Dylan's "Blowing in the Wind" lyrics on the back.

Here is Bob Dylan's YouTube Link. Brings you "back" to the era.

    Enjoy!

P.S. - The lighter is no longer mine sadly. I owned it for the 20 minute car ride back. My son took it the moment I walked in the door. Guess I will need to go back tomorrow and get the '65 dated 101st Airborne example or the "Air America" one.

I can see why you grabbed this - although i don't smoke, i do own a Zippo lighter. It would be nice to get a Vietnam era one like this.

    Thanks guys.

Steve: You should! And pick me up the Air America one while your there!

Nick: I don't either, but these are iconic. Now I have to get the band for the M1 helmet and stick it in.

Marty: 100%. New flint too. But no fluid at the moment.

I bought one of these in Vietnam.....there were LOADS of them.......and I suspect none of them were “period”...but they looked great.

‘ not questioning the authenticity of this or other ones of course.....

No worries. The seller was a vet who got them from other vets over the years.
