I like it. Interesting to see the chinstrap snap system--the books state that BM visors did not have this feature, so another urban legend is dead. ...
Do not collect TR items, but am still interested in "the what and about" of TR uniform-regulations. Do write articles for magazines (published over 100 articles) for the US, the "Military Advisor" and Germany, the "Internationales Militaria-Magazin". Wrote many years for the German "Militaria"-magazine. Wrote various books: 9 and two to come. One of the books is about my army-unit, which served in the former Dutch colony New-Guinea where I volunteered in 1961/1962. The books: "Deutsche Lufthansa, 1926-1945", published in Germany; volumes 1 through 4 "Headgear of Hitler's Germany", "Aiguillettes of the Third Reich" (the book I like the most as it gives much unknown information and has many beautiful photographs; my "monster"-book with 784 pages "Handbook of the Hitler-Jugend, Bann Numbers and Gebiet triangles" and "Wall Plaques and Official Signboards of Hitler's Third Reich, 1933-1945".
In summer 2012 were released: volume 5 for the series "Headgear of Hitlers'Germany" and "Ringkragen und Brustschilder im Dritten Reich", written together with mr. Andrew Mollo and others. For some time I am working for a book about railroad eagles!
