there are quite a number of variants of these NSBO buckles. Although I haven't seen before this very one, I would believe it's ok.

I have my doubts. There are no wear marks on the back. The prongs are of the type commonly seen on replicas. No patina on the buckle that I can ascertain.
My opinion, for what it is worth, is that it is a recent copy.

In my opinion it is an original NSBO.

One of the many "narrow wreath" variants and it is a great pity about the damage on the obverse.

I must admit that the reverse of the buckle does look new and those 2 solder spots are not to my liking, although I still think that it is an original buckle.

The NSBO is of course faked and attached are images of the 2 most common fake roundels.

    Regards,

    David

Exactly the reason why I had (and still have) the feeling it could be an original.
The first one is much more elaborated and well detailed then the two fake one's.
Thise is always one of my first leads.

Yes....the solder points do not look as most do. I too think the buckle is originals. No problems with the prongs. I have a couple examples of these buckles - there are many variants.
Any picked up at a garage sale? Couldn't have been too expensive!
