Its a Turnerbund buckle, German Athletic Association (Deutsche Turnerbund) The front are meant to be four "F" meaning “Frisch, Froh, Fromm und Frei” (Fresh, Happy, Pious and Free) do you have a picture of the rear? i will find you a good picture of one

No Steve not really they are quite common, they also cheap to buy and most guys do not like them to be honest
