Article about: It looks to my untrained eyes that this particular type of buckle may have had an alloy that was abit difficult to get the loop to adhere to-hence the "Put it on Thick-and make the damn

    Beautiful buckle, indeed! And still with the tag, no less! What is the story with the hook loop on the back? Did it, at one time, come loose and had to be reattached?

    I don't know, presuming this is just part of the process? Would it be brazed on?

    I can't say that I can remember ever seeing this on the attachment side before.....perhaps our resident buckle guru Ben can give us some more insight on the process?

    I think its some kind of flux residue or something like that, you see it on a few buckles
