    ...About your General-Photo: ~near 'May 1933'.
"Auszeichnung höchste Wachregiment "Berlin". Reichswehr Generäle".
    Reight: von Hammerstein-Equord.

But I'm not sure. Maybe it's another day/parade?

    Hi Hans

It is the same man, he took over from Heye as head of the Army. Not sure if it is the same parade or not, I reckon he went to a lot of parades !

    cheers

On your night shots - Hanomag 2-10 PS "Komissbrot". Very pretty car! Were as jeep version of this auto (for soldier).
Many of these cars took part in the Feldmanöver der 6. Division in Bad Pyrmont, Niedersachsen (in 1930).

I saw a postcard: "Reichsheer. Parade einer motorisierten Batterie".
Same as you. It is not known when the picture was taken? Field maneuvers?

    Good Evening All,

The final album to add to this thread from me.

This is the first Reichswehr album I bought and remained a bit of a mystery for a long time as their was very little info to guide me as the pictures seemed to jump around a bit with lots of NCO's from different regiments in the pictures.

Finally the penny dropped as I read more about the training of the infantry and officers in particular and I realised this was an officer candidates album from IR 17 charting his basic training, NCO promotions and final acceptance into the officer corps.

Here follows his journey in pictures.........................

Officer candidate training lasted four years for those taken on with a formal education certificate called the Abitur. It was intensive and rigourous course that took the candidate to every level of soldiering from basic training, working them up the nco ranks till they completed their final exams and were commissioned. This album starts in 1924 with basic training, mid 1926 lots of nco pics and finishes 1929 with an officer in every picture. Hence my educated guess at what the album shows us......as ever I could be wrong.

We begin with basic training at Celle, home for IR 17 new recruits and to the training battalion.

All aspects of new technology were introduced during the course, naturally the Germans didn't have any fighter planes but they found ways to get round things.....

Final pictures in the album all makes sense now, the owner has marked it I.IR 17 and the pictures show the officer's in the field and a very serious short of them at mess................

Good spot, my photo is stamped on the back with the photographers details, he must have been selling them to the troops as part of a commercial venture, literally one for the photo album.............early paparazzi......or in this case paparnazi's.........lol
