This picture is dated March 1920 and sent by "your friend Karl" , one assumes the young man on the front. Freikorps insignia on the collar and technically not part of the Reichswehr his unit may have been absorbed into the RW later on. Note the Imperial cockades still in place and looks like a Hessian or maybe Bavarian cockade on the cap band, any suggestions for the unit appreciated.

    cheers

    Tony

    Talking Wonderful images!

Great pictures! All wear standard M.21 feldrock's and M.21 field caps w/visor (all modell 'January 1, 1921').
On these caps now contains a new tricolor-cocards, established on "16. Мärz 1933" when the Republic fall.
Some soldiers have stripes for shooting (in silver, mod.1928) on their sleeves.

The whole situation with a uniform typical for 1935. But, the truth, some reason absolutely no one has the breast-eagles. Although they were introduced on February 17, 1934.

    Thumbs up Rare picture!

Very unexpected Photography! Nowadays, any views of the 1925's field manoeuvres extremely rare! I love to look at them, but it's almost impossible...

In September 1925 the first autumn 'DIVISION-exercises' were carried out. Unfortunately, I do not know exactly which Division fighting there; Nevertheless, I know that have been involved 1st Division, 3rd Division and 2nd Cavalry Brigade. Also attended dummy tanks (Panzerattrappe).

Among the famous generals include: SEECKT, HEYE, BLOMBERG, and GUDERIAN with his adjutant!
In eastern Prussia Swedish officers were visiting the 3rd Battalion of 1st Division (as guest-observer)!

1929 Press-photo. Contrary to the officer's tradition, Haye has all metal emblem on the cap...
Yes, on the crown necessary in the metal (land marks, or Brunswick skull).
But on the band ought to be embroidered with silver thread.
