hi guys , first a thank you to ade for posting the pictures
i would love to fire this beast on a range , the weapon has a little feature that helps when firing , the whole barrel and breach slides backwards over the pistol grip taking some of the recoil away from the shoulder .

it still must be a brutal weapon to fire .

Speaking of 'seriousley damaging your shoulder' - did the Russian army ever use the Brittish spring loaded 'Piat' anti tank gun?. It was reputed to have caused a higher loss of operators than tank crew!

Hi Chris, as far as I know they never got any PIAT's.

They might have encountered them in the hands of the Polish Home Army though as they certainly had them.

Just for interests sake, i have enclosed a pic of my inert 1943 dated PIAT round.

    Cheers, Ade.

Another thought: the Soviets may have been given a small quantity of Boyes .55 anti tank rifles? I will have to check a book I have on vehicles. I have a feeling they got them as kit with some Lend-Lease Universal (Bren gun) carriers.

    Cheers, Ade.

Just looked: Carriers yes, but having got the magnifying glass out they have PTRD's & PTRS's on board, not Boyes.

    Cheers, Ade.

I,m agree with Dimas shooting from the PTRD can damage the shoulder. The "broneboischik" should be a strong man
