    Here`s an old musket that was given to me. It`s about .57 caliber and is marked London and " Roses " on the barrel. it also has British proofmarks on it. I was told it is an English sporting rifle,anybody have any info on it?

    Could you post a picture of the muzzle? It resembles the H. Mortimer fowling piece I owned a long time ago. Mid 1840's to mid 1850's would be my guess for date of manufacture.
