    Default 1909 Mauser Question

    Hi fellows,

A friend at work brought me a couple of rifles to check out he would like to sell them because like everyone else he's broke.

The first one is marked "Property of the US S no.4 MK". I think its is a Lee Enfield No. 4. Which I think, in the short time I had to research it takes 303 British cartridge?

The second is marked Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909 and takes a 7.65 from what I was told.

I was wondering what these may be worth in there not so original condition and from a WWII collectors stand piont how desirable are these examples to own.

Any help and or info on these would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks very much,

I'll tell you both have been sporterized. The receiver (and possibly other components) of the first rifle were put on a post-war stock. The Enfield has been chopped up towards the front. I don't know much about the value, but it will decrease due to the modifications.
