    Default 1935 K98 (Russian Capture)

    Hi

Here is my example of a very early production K98.

It has the code 'S/42G' witch means it was manufactured at the Mauser factory in 1935. It has a mixture of pre and war time stamps, though being a Russian Capture ('X' stamp) it also has miss-matched parts.

If you are interested in any more pictures just ask!

    Thanks

Nice condition, a lot of the Russian captured stuff i've seen are quite rough!..
It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

Nice looking rifle, Cameron...My first rifle was a Spanish Mauser that was de-milled, now I have a functional Mauser 95 Short Rifle, made in Berlin for export to Chile....Looks like your collection is expanding! Well done and thanks for sharing your treasures!
    cheers, Glenn

    Hi

Thanks! It's turning into quite an expensive hobby....and I haven't even started on SS items!

I have very little SS in my collection...some Dutch SS propaganda material....I just can't afford the really high-end stuff...I'll stick to what I know best, mainly Wehrmacht, German Homefront, Imperial German, and a bit of Freikorps...that's plenty for me
    cheers, Glenn

Nice Rifle! I love my RC K98, because I feel it has seen more history then some of my other firearms. I have all sorts of Bringback k98's, p-38's, lugers and what not but I look at my $300 RC K98 and say, "What has this seen? Where has it been?" plus you can actually shoot it like crazy and not have to worry about a thing.

    Hi

    Glad you like it!

I couldn't agree more, Russian Capture weapons do have a story to tell.Unfortunately my example is deactivated so it is unable to fire.
