Looking forward to pictures ..1942 was a transitional year as the Czech G24t ( w/ the dou 42 code ) was phased out in favor of the K98 model /s..you don't see many dou 42 in k98 configuration mostly dou43..
Look forward to seeing the pic of the rifle

Here's the pics. Sorry about the delay.
The capture screws (locking screws) have been removed as usual, and although some captured rifles have them removed, my sight hood and cleaning rod are still there. Bolt has the serial number electro-penciled in by the Russians and the X markings to show it is a capture. Sling is original postwar and the leather is in generally good condition other than one part where it is cracked slightly.
The majority of the rifle is not matching however In still really happy with it as not only is it my first German piece, it also fits in with my Russian collection in some way.
Still getting used to that smooth Mauser bolt!
Looks like it will be a good shooter.
Is it a shooter or a Dewat?

It's deactivated, unfortunately - because of the gun laws over here. I wish it was still a shooter, I hear they are great rifles to shoot and quite accurate.
Hopefully one day I'll be able to fire a live one, but firearms licences aren't cheap.
Nice looking Kar! Unfortunately the wood looks in not so good condition.
Nice looking rifle
