I grew up a military brat in Germany in the late 50's and 60's, I have been collecting this stuff most of my life. I have a couple of Lugers, a half dozen VIS's and several P38's that I have picked up over the years.

Wow, unbelievable stuff, man!
It's good to hear of someone who's collected and stuck with it this long ;-)
Usually people say, "I wish I'd collected back then when you could get anything and it was reasonable..."
Very admirable though, and the rewards can't be overstated.
If I had all the WWII pistols I'd bought over the years, I'd be swimming in them, but I got completely out of it... and put the $$$ into other stuff. And even though I really miss some of it (especially since some of it is worth 10 times what it was then), sometimes it seems possessions actually possess you... like a burden, caring for and protecting all these things. In a way, I'm glad my collection is somewhat manageable now since I started again (funny thing is, it was finding that Hi Power that did it), in case we need to be evacuated because of fire, there's only so many things you can stick in a vehicle...
And we get attached to these things.
