Great find!!! Had one years ago... much more unusual that many of the commonly seen TR pistols. I really like the rough finish on the Brownings, adds some very interesting personality to it. I believe Eagle N were just the factory test proofs seen on all these pistols, is it WaA140 proofed also, in a couple places?

Holsters pop up on eBay, I just saw one this morning?

That and a spare mag and a very handsome rig it will make ;-)

The only piece WaA proofed is the barrel. This was not military marked. From records about 5% were built this way.

I took some different pics tonight. I have been shooting helmets and can't get my settings right for the handguns again.

Actually, those pics are about as perfect as you could ask ;-)

I just went through my records, I had one that was WaA103 proofed, and another I'd forgotten about with a mention of Bavarian Banks, so also some type of Police or Security.

The build construction on these is rather unique.

It's funny the build quality was very spotty near the end of the war. According to Anthony Vanderlinden in his Browning Military weapons book it came down to which person did the finish work. Some guns look good, some like this one look very crude. But I have some 1944 Hi Powers that look identical in finish quality.

My '44 HP is very similar if not identical in finish. What a kick @ss looking gun too... I just looked at it in some good light yesterday and it's got shades of plum colors, really something else! Hadn't looked at it in a long time, been going through some Luger madness... and Walther PP/PPK's ;-) Surprised this stuff still pops out of the woodwork local, really. All quiet right now... which is good or else I'll go broke ;-)
