As I mentioned in an earlier thread, AIM was selling their first shipment of 91/30 snipers that came directly out of Russia, instead of Ukraine. They designated them as KO 91/30s - hunting rifles. They went through a post-war refurb and generally have a mix of parts. I asked for a Tula since I already have an Izhevsk repro sniper and a 1942 Izhevsk ex-sniper that I will restore.
Here it is - 1943 Tula sniper. The scope was re-serial numbered at some point. It might have been an SVT scope converted to a PU for use with the 91/30s. The mount is Tula. Despite the lands and grooves being worn at the end of the barrel, the crown is good and it does pretty well with the bullet test. I'll shoot it theis weekend and see how tight it is. I love the dark stock and the optics are clear and the knobs turn freely. Very pleased - especially at the $600 price tag.
