1944 M44 Mosin Nagant

My new M44 carbine. 140$ plus tax so 153$ total. It's counterbored and has a dark and very few amounts of pitting in the barrel but under the woodline it's heavly pitted near the back of the receiver. I mainly got this to retire my Laminated stock one from being a range rifle. Same year as my other M44 and same maker, however this one has a very nice trigger. Hope the pictures turn out good. Looks like they misstamped the serial number by 6 numbers off also, interesting. Take care, George.

How does it shoot? Looks to be in good shape. Do you have a photo of the whole rifle? Ron

Oops, forgot to upload a pic of the whole rifle. Here's the pic, haven't shot it yet but hoping later today I can. Not sure why it has brass endcaps on the hand guard though. George

Good looking rifle George. It'll be a hoot to shoot! I'm not sure why they used the brass,except it must have been in good supply at the time. Some of mine have the same. Ron

Thanks Ron, I have a feeling that the hand guard is from a earlier M38 carbine. Should be fun seeing that muzzleflash again

I would also recommend using hot soapy water down the bore after shooting to neultralize corrosive effects
