But one will come up sooner or later, the DP on your rifle stands for Demonstration Purposes, we had them on the S.L.R, and other weapons when i was an weapons Instuctor.

It also has DP stamped on the other side but not sure what that means.
DP is Drill Purpose, that is, not to be fired.
