    Default 3 Lithgow made Lee Enfields

    These are 3 rifles made at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory, the primary arms maker in Australia during and after the World Wars-a 1917 made SMLE MkIII, a 1943 No.1 MkIII* and a 1947.22 cal single shot trainer No.2 MkIV* converted from a 1941 MkIII*.

    zwerge-thanks for the comments (Ingrid P as well!) - I don't usually shoot my collectables but had the opportunity to shoot with a P14 last year-a very accurate weapon indeed-will be doing a bit more this year with my longarms and pistols ( Makarov and Tokarev TT33) through the militaria collector club to which I belong.

    nice rifles, i like your 1917 its in great condition, my lithgow of that year is well used with a lot of scratches and the front furniture has been replaced with ww2 vintage coachwood.
    Its great to see lee enfields on here particularly the lithgows

    Hi Lithgow,
    Thanks for putting them on here i love enfield rifles the design alone does it, i dont blame you not wanting to shoot your collectables ones. I would like a lithgow for my collection but dont seem to see many over here, loads of B.S.A,s though. i have four enfields now but a lithgow would be nice.

    hi Panzer ...apparently Lithgow supplied 30,000 smles to UK forces in ww1. Also peak ww2 production was 4000 per week so I guess a bunch of those headed your way as well :-)

    My 43 Lithgow below. Everything matches except the 46 stock. Probably post war refurbish as the stock has R MA 9/46 stamped on it. It also has DP stamped on the other side but not sure what that means.
