Looks to be a Arabian rifle Muzzleloader (black powder) to me.

It certainly looks to be the real deal, even maker and possibly Arabian proof marks, typical Lawrence of Arabia weapon

May be genuine but a large number of these are made for the tourist market. I have recently observed large numbers of "genuine" flintlock plates and locks for sale in Afghanistan, all complete with VR (Victoria Regina - i.e. Queen Victoria) proof marks etc, none of which are probably much more than 6 months old.

Asian metalsmiths are expert in reproducing firearms so I would think that a firearms dealer would need a close look before declaring the weapon to be of ancient rather than more recent manufacture.

Own guess - modern tourist reproduction. However, if there is auction provenance etc. than that would change things.

Recent repro-has no age to it and that' flintlock' looks like Frankensteins monster with the modern screwheads everywhere IMO.

Good point - not a counter-sunk screw to be seen.....

Dan, these are coming back from the sandpit on a daily basis along with, as mentioned, Tower marked flintlock pistols. I can tell you that this Jezail or camel gun retails for around $60-$75 over there. Not bad for a wall hanger or for beating a burglar to death with....

Dan I have one question ... how do you purchase a rifle that looks to be about 6 feet long by mistake?
Although I "rented" a lady that looked much like that during a night of heavy drinking. Wished I never woke up to see that.

Just kidding Dan, it made me chuckle when I first read it.
