Anyone help identify the weapon? please

Article about: by bigmacglenn1966 Sorry I can't be of any more help...but at least we know it's a Mauser. any idea what caliber or if i need a magazine and thanks for the help everyone

    Anyone help identify the weapon? pleaseIMG_0659[1].jpgI recieved this boltaction rifle as a gift when I was young and would like to know more about it. I think its world war 2 but I have no idea. thanks.     There should be markings on the receiver that will provide precise information...from what I see it looks like a sporterized Mauser...but I can't tell which type of Mauser....

    sorry I dont know a lot about weapons so what is the reciever so I can look and see?

    Looks like a Spanish model 95 rifle that has had the stock cut down.....Pete.

    I looked at the spanish models and it does look like it but the barrel is longer..

    This weapon has been sporterized for hunting...who knows what else has been done to it....barrel, stock, other parts etc...

    very well could have been. but Im not sure because the bolt looks just like the spanish model except this gun has no markings except a few numbers and letters unlike the spanis model.

    Sorry I can't be of any more help...but at least we know it's a Mauser.
