My next door neighbour was wounded by an IED when he was out there and was also hit by a friendly fire incident, a drop short by artillery and is now on the reserve list. He was deputy commander ISAF in Afghanistan during 2008. Respect to all who served.

    hi Bond
sorry to hear about your mate
i have to say that ,,i to have respect for all who serve
but i was ,and ,am ,to all intence ,a mercenary in that sence of the word
so i get no back up or assistance from my own government
and the country that i work for !! would screw me at the drop of a hat
the work i do ,,, at times is very glamorouse
at times it is damn right dangerouse
    at times it is thankless
and at my age its hard work
mabe i should just stick to rebuilding edy8mens crommwell and learn that i am no longer capable of being among the quick and the hard men that im used to being with
the younger up and comming lads are there to take over from the likes of an old fart like me
they are the new hard and fast men
    all wind to there sailes
    cheers ian

He is a good bloke and not too badly damaged, outwardly any way.

Respect to you and your kind as well Ian, for whatever reason you choose to be there.

    The cromwell sounds interesting?

Where in Wales are you from? I'm ex Diff and now have moved out west.

As I said, I'm from the Diff, so anyone north of Glamorgan don't consider me to be Welsh anyway. I know what you mean about the Welsh wife, my first one was Welsh and they can be difficult and feisty. I traded her in for a Yank.
