    Yes later types had bakelite handguards!....

    It was made Stocks for 98k of somting called Resin and yes it was made bakelite handguards to g43

    I heard that they made 98k(gunstock),im interested in what period is made......

    Red resin Stocks made by Mauser Borsigwalde in Berlin. I think they were made in 1937. I do have one of the 900? pcs made

    In the book on bakelit, they say it's 1937-1940 for the G98.
    The codes S/243 or WaA217.
    Testingd were not favorable, so they stop and a large numbers were apparently never fielded, and a few survived the war.
