Thanks for showing this fine piece. Can you tell us what year it was made? I fired one from World War 2 vintage and you could tell it was was solid piece.

Post war? The beaver tail looks longer than the WW2 models. I might be wrong You get any slide bites when shooting this one?

Not an expert on these myself, but I believe it to be ww.2 for sure.

I have just gone and got the gun out to check it over.... all original matching parts with a serial number of 1099254. Checking online numbers 1096405 to 1208673 give it a date of 1943. So in answer to the question from Datrus, yes its ww.2.

    Love these old 45's
Yours looks great!!!! I have an Ithica and Remington Rand. both 1943 issue. Still looking for a 1943 colt.
Did you know that the US made 45's up too 1956 for the military. Then we ran on suplus after that and rebuilt a lot of them. Rock Island Arsenal rebuilt a lot of them. It is only 1 1/2 hours drive from me. Been there a lot. I use to know a man that rebuild them "45's" there. He is retired now. I think they only built 105 and 155 Howitzers. now.
    thanks for sharing.
