Thank you HVK for the link to the Danish site.
Garandy: my gun has no british proof stamps.
I think my gun is a "plain" gun meant for US armed forces.
I really like this model 1903 and will hopefully soon take it to the range for some shooting.

I wouldnt doubt its in the OSS contract. Send $75.00 US to Colt. It will take 3 or 4 months, but they will document its shipping records on Colt stationary for you.
What are these pistols worth in your part of the world?
I had one about 30 years ago that lettered to G2 MIS, but I stupidly sold it. Paid $750.00..now 30 years later this was over 2K. Now with the OSS docs, its worth 3500-4K. Andy

I just might pay Colt for some info on the guns history.
I paid about $250 for the gun maybe 12-15 years ago.
I bought it together with a Colt 1911A1, also "United States Property". The "45" costed me slightly more.
Its the historic aspect that draws my interest, financial value less so.
Again thanks for very nice info

Whats the SN of the M1911A1, is it Colt made?
I can help you some with that too. I had mine lettered, it went to SA in early 1944, pre D-Day.
Mine is Colt now , however, Ive had US&S, Ithaca Gun Co., and Remington Rand.
    Singer Mfg is the rarest.

The 1911A1 is indeed a Colt.
    SN is 1103427.
Its gonna be expensive to buy info from Colt when the numbers of guns add up so Im grateful for your assistance.

Late 1943, early 1944. "GHD", and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", with Ordnance wheel, and "P"?
Im not sure if its too late for matching slide, but check under the slide, by removing firing pin stop. It could be numbered to the frame. Ive forgotten the break off point, but will advise more soon.

Yours should have matching numbers, behind the firing pin stop, underneath the stop, rear of slide.
