Is this compensator for an ak-47?
Is this compensator for an ak-47?
Any ideas?
That's not for an AK. What's the diameter of the hole on the large end between the two tangs? IMO, it looks like more of a flash suppresor then a compensator for rifle control. It looks like since there are only open slots on one side, you could turn that down and reduce the flash for 120 degrees. Where did you get it and what makes you think it was for a AK? Looks like it's a relic.

I got it at a yard sale for .25 cents, hopes it worth it. Concerning the measurements it is for a 30 caliber or less. All i really know is that its from a gun and is somewhat old/rusted up lol.
A friend its a compensator and/or from an ak. Also your probabyl wondering why I bought it, well I thought it was from a thompson.
im on the hunt to identify this cos its bugging me
i recognise it but cant bring it to the front of my mind
cheers ian
I did my compulsory service with AK... this piece has nothing to do with AK
Looks rather like a Cutts compensator as fitted to Thompson guns

Its not a Cutts its an aftermarket SKS/AK muzzle break they sell for around $10 to $25 yours seems very rusty! Here is a pic of mine for comparsion
Wow, been around alot of AK's and SKS's, and never seen a muzzle brake like that on one of them. How do you put it on the barrel. Tap it with an allen screw, weld it, or what? Is it meant for fully auto models so they don't rise? Can you show a picture of one on an AK or SKS? I'm not doubting you duke, I would just be interested in see one mounted.
