    Hi, I got 7,62 Czech Mauser,with Israeli marking, no cleaning rod, no disc,hole in buttplate, seem to be birch wood, 7,62 engraved or burned on the butt, is possible to know the year of fabrication, the sens of Israeli marking.

    I'm not sure about the markings but the guys at gunboards.com total online service for the gun owner and collector will maybe know

    Your 98k sure looks like a post-war model that was made in Czechoslovakia after the war, Israel purchased a bunch of these in 1948, and converted many to 7.62 later on.

    The post-war 98k that was made in Czechoslovakia was similar to the late war Kriegsmodell design, with the cleaning rod and stock disk omitted, but the bayonet lug restored.

    Instead of the takedown disk in the stock, the small hole in the buttplate was provided.

    I think the birch stock is an Israeli made replacement, but am not sure. Maybe someone else can chime in here.

    hi,can you tel me how do we call that type of mauser k98 ?
    Czech mauser or Israeli mauser,
    i found the beech stock was replaced by Israeli made by them.
