    Default Deact/DP No 4

Hi guys, today has been my lucky day. I have been given (yes given) from my brother in law this very nice drill purpose Long branch No 4. The bolt is matched to the frame of the rifle is the trigger housing band, I am not sure if it should have any more numbers on it, British gear is not really my thing. I am going to build a mounting frame for it and probably buy a period sling and maybe a pig sticker bayonet, any comments welcome

Good condition for a DP rifle-usually well used by the time they're down graded-the spike bayo is a cheap one to get (except for the Mk I) and a sling should be pretty easy as well-will be a very attractive display piece.

    Congrats.
Looks to be in fine condition.
Was it never used or is has it been re-blued?

It certainly doesnt look like it has been used for drill work for any extended period of time.

Birmingham used to re-blue after deactivation , not anymore.

I have a rifle, if you take the wood off, the rod that was welded into barrel is blue as well

    Nice rifle, congrats!

    Hi Ben,
Lovely looking rifle and as the others have said it looks like it has had no use, Well done on getting it, I have a Long Branch the same as that but no where near that condition. It will be a great display piece.
    Dave.

Guys, many thanks for the comments, just one question, being a Long Branch is it English or Canadian?
    Ben
