    hey guys just wondering if anyone can tell me what sort of firearm this is and possibly how old. I have don't know anything about guns obviously. It does have a few number on it just behind the trigger but there pretty hard to make out.

    I first thought an old colt navy revolver but im leaning now towards a antique pump action rifle or shotgun possibly an early Winchester or colt........did a quick google but can see any exact matches but it looks very similar to some of the guns that came up.

    This seems to be a Remington "rolling block" action.

    Latter part of the nineteenth century. Very popular as a military and civilian fire arm.

Size:  11.8 KBI think it is more in line with a Colt Lightning carbine receiver is too long for a rolling block imo
