French R-35 Carbines were made from refurbished Mle 1886 Rifle Receivers.. In the period of 1936 to 1940.. The 'R' stands for (RACCOURCI) shortened.. This was considered an updated carbine.. It was 3 rounds tubular fed.... Thats right a 3 shot carbine.. Many were surrenered to the Germans in 1940 and reissued to German Kriegsmarine and occupying troops.. The Germans even manufactured ammo for the French Lebel Rifles and Carbines, and shortened the Model 1886 bayonet for use with the R-35 carbine and modified a German bayonet frog for use with the shortened bayonet..Enjoy this Historical R-35 Carbine and accessories..BILL

Nice! Thats the first one I have seen with Waffenampt.
I picked up three versions of the bayonet in Afghanistan. Two aluminum with and without hooked guard, and a brass handled one without hooked guard. I couldn't find a brass one with.
French bayos can be a fascinating study too.
Thanks for posting this rare one.

A very attractive carbine. I am surprised to see a tube fed magazine with such a pointed projectile. I would think recoil could cause a round detonation, while in the tubular magazine.

What a treat to see this carbine with the German markings. Thanks, Bill!

Hello congratulations, magnificent detail(room), in a magnificent state, which does not leave indifferent a passionate person of French military material(equipment), the period of 1940, as me.

    Greetings
